FISH STOCKED January 2011 :

Here are the pics for the fish purchased / introduced in January 2011 at a cost of £2500.00. Sorry for the delay in publishing them. -

The fish had been netted 24 hrs previously from a high quality high profile local water and were available due to another party backing out on the purchase -  hence presenting us with a opportunity to get the 3 x 20lb fish promised - without further delay.

(AJS still not been back to me . . .)

The fish (apart from Torpedo) are all young potential fast-growers - and we need to feed them as regularly as they have been used to being fed in the past. For this reason - if you have not already  paid your £35.00 towards Fish Feed - can you PLEASE DO THE RIGHT THING AND DO SO NOW - lest your quarry lose weight . . . thankyou !!!

Sorry the pics are not that hot - we arrived at Cottage Pool in driving rain, and an associate of the supplier took the shots and sent them to me. I really should have taken a tape measure - but did not know that the supplier wanted to deliver immediately I went to inspect them. They were quickly sling-weighed on transfer, and there were no signs of distress in any of the fish.

See Grid Below for sizes & quickly noted transfer weights . Added Comments are for later identification & progress monitoring.

FISH STOCKED 2010

AJS FIsheries

Aug 10th 2010 - the above fish are quite typical of what is now in the pool. I have received copies of the Section 30 Environment Agency consents signed by Alan Jones - at Shrewsbury.

The 2nd delivery - the fish were transferred three at a time by Anthony Sylvester, myself and Mike Elwell. Elliott my son manned the camera. After the first 15 or so fish I became a little concerned as the fish were just so much larger than I expected - and insteal of the balance of the “5 pounders ” being the four to five pounds range there were on the Sunday (when we all said how happy we were with the size of the fish) THIS batch were just far bigger - and one batch of a random threesome weighed in on Mike tripod - at            about 22 lbs.

I was actually worried about “how the hell was I going to pay for them?” but Anthony explained by saying we had been lucky   because he did not have the time or the opportunity to “grade them properly” - so he just brought the number we had ordered - but did not actually give any consideration to the size.

ALL IN ALL - AJS did us proud - and I was not for complaining - and Anthony was paid in full the next day - so we are high enough up the priority list for the twenty pounders in October I am sure. Lets hope this little lot do OK in the mean-time.
