Predictable fish growth is what we are looking for and due to the temperature range across the country it is preferable to acquire fish fborn & bred on a similar latitude to the fishery as fish bred further south can take several years to acclimatise to a central england location like ours.
Naturally, having to start afresh gives us the benefit of knowing the heritage and age of the fish and also helps us control their growth over the coming years.
